When I first started, I was granted access to the employee handbook, but I never really logged into the website and read into it. But, since it is up for discussion as to whether I will be getting my own club or not right now, I decided to familiarize myself with it a little more. One thing that I noticed specifically is we don’t have to wear an Anytime Fitness branded polo. We just have to wear a polo of some sort. We also have to wear black bottoms as well. It can be leggings, jeans, or dress pants, but they must be solid black bottoms. We are allowed to wear shorts between June and September.

My organizations culture could honestly use some work. The culture itself is full of good intentions, but the more that I get into the company, I realize there is definitely some work that can be done. Our specific location has a great culture between me, my general managers, and our personal training managers. The culture is fun and upbeat, as it should be since it’s a gym. I try to engage members a little more than general manager does, and that is something I will put a lot of effort into my own club. I think being an assistant manager before a general manager is going to help me a lot because it is helping me see the things I do like and want to take into my own club, and things that I don’t care for a ton and don’t want to take into my club.
