As I have kind of already mentioned before, I think there is definitely room for improvement within this organization. Things have gotten better for me now that I have an assistant manger, but know there are general managers who don’t have assistants, and it’s rough. It’s way too much of a workload for one person, and it causes burnout quick. So the turnover rate is stupid high. The vice president of our territory is also a micro manger, which I personally do not do well with. I like being taught how to do something, and then once I see success with it, allowing me to kind of go off on my own and do what I need to do to make things work. Whitney isn’t really a huge fan of that, because she likes things done a certain way, which I understand because I am the same way. But I’m also the kind of person that will do something myself if I’m going to be upset about how someone else does it. That is hard when you are the vice president of 30 different fitness facilities. I’m hoping it will get better as I get better at the job, but we will just have to see, it makes me a little nervous. If I were to change anything, I would trust in general managers and their ability a little more. I would also show them support in the areas they specifically need, like an assistant manger. Bandon Fitness is sort of stingy with their money, so they probably think they are saving money by having a smaller staff, but really they are wasting money by losing sales from managers that are burnout, and having to pay to train manager after manager. It’s a poor business move in my opinion.
