Today I had the pleasure of learning our cleaning protocol when someone throws up while working out. I also had the pleasure of learning what it is truly like to be a manager. My regularly scheduled work hours are 10am-7pm Monday through Thursday and 10am-5pm on Fridays. I have a personal trainer working on Monday, Tuesday, and Fridays from 6am to anywhere between noon and 3pm depending on the day. His 6am client this morning wasn’t feeling well but refused to interrupt their session to go to the bathroom. The personal trainer turned around to change some weights on the rack they were working with next and the client threw up all over the purple turf. So I was woken up to a call at 6:15 from the personal trainer asking what the protocol is to clean the puke from the purple turf. I feel like this was a pretty accurate representation of the not so pretty days of management. The personal trainer in this situation, his name is Drew, and I don’t always see eye to eye on business things. We often butt heads because he has been with the company for a longer time than I have, but hasn’t ever been promoted, and I think he is a little butt hurt about that, so he is pretty stubborn. The point of this being I think he was trying to get me to come in and clean it up myself, which is not happening. So I advised him as to how to clean it up himself and then decided to get some feedback from my district manger once I got in for the day as to what the actual protocol is. Our process was different, but it got the job done so that is what matters.
